The Colored Program begins by choosing a blank Santoni model, which serves as the basis for your custom-made shoes. You can try on this model in our store to make sure the fit is optimal. We then send the shoes to Santoni’s workshop in Italy, where experienced artisans hand color them using traditional techniques.
This process takes about five weeks, during which time the color is built up layer by layer. This gives the leather a rich, deep hue with a luxurious, artisanal feel. Because each shoe is colored by hand, each pair has a subtle, unique hue that cannot be matched by mass production.
