The special attributes of Santoni's leather

The leather used for Santoni shoes comes from calves from one to two years old, high up in the mountains in Italy, Austria or Switzerland. In that environment there are no insects or fences that can damage the skin. The calves naturally eat grass and plants and absolutely no food with additional hormones. This keeps the grain closed.

Where does Santoni’s leather come from?

The temperature in the mountainous areas where they are cared for is also very important with the temperature range of -4C at night and 25C during the day making the grain structure of the leather very strong, but still soft enough to produce extremely durable shoes. Over the back of the calf, 60 cm is used for making Santoni shoes and the rest for producing belts or bags.
